Toimsa: Official Kids' Bikes and Helmets (2026 Spain Guide)

When a child learns to ride a bike, the brand on the frame is almost always the same: Toimsa. The Valencian company has been the main supplier of officially licensed children's bicycles in Spain for decades (Peppa Pig, Bluey, Paw Patrol, Frozen, Minnie, Disney Princesses, Superman, Batman, SuperThings), and also exclusively distributes Huffy bikes. At Híper Ocio, we work with Toimsa as official distributors and maintain a strong stock throughout the year. In this guide, we'll tell you how to choose the wheel size according to the child's age, what models we currently have in stock, and the details that matter (brakes, training wheels, basket, doll carrier...).

We have organized the article by wheel sizes (10" balance bikes, then 12", 14", and 16") because it is the most important decision when buying a first bicycle. It concludes with official children's helmets and a section on how to take advantage of national shipping. All products listed are in real stock in our Albox (Almería) warehouse. If you still have doubts after reading, send us a WhatsApp message at 625 325 295 and we will help you choose the right size.

Who is Toimsa and why it matters

Toimsa (Toy Industria Manufacturera S.A.) is a Spanish company based in Ibi (Alicante), one of Europe's major toy capitals. It has been producing children's bicycles since the 1970s and is currently the official licensee in Spain for major children's franchises: Disney (Frozen, Princesses, Minnie, Mickey, Cars), Universal/Hasbro (Peppa Pig), Spin Master (Paw Patrol), BBC (Bluey), Magicbox (SuperThings) and Warner/DC (Batman, Superman). It also distributes Huffy bikes in Spain, the American brand specializing in themed bikes.

Their recognition is not only due to licenses: Toimsa bicycles comply with the European standard EN-71 (the child safety standard), are approved for use by minors, and, in models with training wheels, the front and rear brakes are usually well-calibrated from the factory. It is a product designed for store sales and for Christmas/First Communions, not for online sales without context.

For Híper Ocio, Toimsa bikes are one of our strongest sections during Christmas and First Communion seasons. We have been selling them for years with the manufacturer's backing and, in case any component fails (pedal, seat, training wheels), we manage spare parts through the official channel.

How to choose wheel size by age

The most common mistake when buying a first bike is choosing the wrong size. It is not measured solely by the child's age: it is measured by their inseam height, which indicates whether their feet can reach the ground. As a general guide:

  • Rider Bike (balance bike) 10": 2-4 years. For learning balance before pedaling. Minimum child height 85-90 cm.
  • 12" Bicycle with training wheels: 3-5 years. First bike with pedals. Child height 95-110 cm.
  • 14" Bicycle: 4-6 years. When they can already pedal well but still want training wheels or have just removed them. Height 105-120 cm.
  • 16" Bicycle: 5-8 years. A "real" bike, usually without training wheels by now. Height 115-135 cm.

If you are in doubt between two sizes, the rule of thumb we give at the counter is: the child should be able to touch the ground with the tip of both feet while seated on the saddle. If they can only reach with one foot or their sole is dangling, the bike is too small or too big. In a physical store, they can try it; if you buy online and are in doubt, send us a WhatsApp message with the child's height, and we will confirm the size.

Rider Bike: 10" balance bikes (2-4 years)

Balance bikes (also called "Rider Bikes") are the modern and recommended way to teach riding. The child pushes off the ground with their feet and learns balance without the complexity of pedaling. When they transition to a pedal bike, balance is already acquired, and training wheels are almost unnecessary. Here are the ones we have:

  • Toimsa 10" Bluey Rider Bike · SKU TOIMSA-159 · €47.99 · 2-4 years. Adjustable seat, official Bluey design. This is the most popular version of the year for birthdays of boys and girls who watch the show.
  • 10" SuperThings Rider Bike · SKU TOIMSA-186 · €29.99 · 2-4 years. The SuperThings (SuperZings) version for fans of the Magicbox collection. More affordable price, ideal if you're looking for an introduction without spending too much.

12" Bicycles with training wheels (3-5 years)

The first jump to a pedal bike. All Toimsa 12" bikes come with removable training wheels, front and rear brakes, and the frame is designed for the little one to get on and off effortlessly. Models in stock:

  • Toimsa 12" Rayos Bicycle · SKU TOIMSA-12212 · €109.99 · from 3 years. Neutral sporty design (blue with details), ideal if you are looking for something without a specific children's license. The best-priced option in the 12" catalog.
  • Toimsa 12" Blue Ice Bicycle · SKU TOIMSA-12012 · €103.99. Another neutral option in ice blue, for children who prefer a design without characters.
  • Toimsa 12" Bluey Bicycle (1259) · SKU TOIMSA-1259 · €118.99. Official Bluey design with the blue dog family. One of the best sellers in the 3-5 year range.
  • Toimsa 12" Bluey Bicycle (1159) · SKU TOIMSA-1159 · €109.99. Alternative variant of the Bluey model with a slightly different frame. Complies with EN-71 standard.
  • Toimsa 12" Pink Peppa Pig Bicycle · SKU TOIMSA-1295 · €124.99. Official Peppa Pig design, inflatable wheels, front and rear brakes, themed accessories.
  • Huffy Toimsa 12" Frozen Bicycle · SKU TOIMSA-12694 · €134.99. The official Huffy version of Frozen (Disney). Training wheels, front basket, and design with Elsa and Anna. Passes EN-71 standard.

14" Bicycles (4-6 years)

The intermediate size. For children who already pedal well and want more height, more speed, and, in many cases, are ready to remove the training wheels. All come with training wheels and can be removed when the child needs them less. Models in stock:

  • Toimsa 14" Bluey Bicycle · SKU TOIMSA-1459 · €132.99 · 4-6 years. Official Bluey design with training wheels. It's the natural step when little ones outgrow the 12".
  • Toimsa 14" Disney Princesses Bicycle (Huffy) · SKU TOIMSA-14643 · €139.99 · 3-6 years. Official Huffy Disney Princesses edition with front basket and pastel-toned design. Training wheels included.
  • Toimsa 14" White Paw Patrol Bicycle · SKU TOIMSA-1481 · €134.99 · 3-5 years. Official designs of the Paw Patrol pups, blue front basket, rear doll carrier, and training wheels.

16" Bicycles (5-8 years)

The "real" bike. For children who have already given up training wheels or are about to. Toimsa 16" bikes usually also come with removable training wheels, but the vast majority of children no longer use them at this size. Models in stock:

Toimsa children's helmets: the other half of the kit

A helmet is not optional. In Spain, it is mandatory for children under 16 on any public road. Toimsa helmets at €17.99 are adjustable and come with the same themed design as the bikes, making it easy to create a set. Models in stock:

Counter recommendation: helmets are chosen by size (head circumference), not by age. Toimsa children's helmets are adjustable with a rear dial and usually cover 48-54 cm in circumference. If in doubt, measure around the child's head with a flexible tape measure (just above the eyebrows and ears) and check before buying.

Huffy: the premium line

Some bikes in the catalog bear the Huffy brand in addition to Toimsa. Huffy is a century-old American brand that holds the rights to many Disney licenses (Frozen, Princesses, Minnie, Mickey, Cars), and Toimsa is its official distributor in Spain. Huffy bikes usually have a slightly premium finish (better paint, somewhat sturdier components) and a slightly higher price. The ones we have are: Frozen 12" (€134.99), Disney Princesses 14" (€139.99), and Minnie 16" (€149).
