LEGO Advent Calendar 2026: Star Wars, Marvel or Disney?

· Updated on 4 October 2026

Ten o'clock on a Tuesday night in November. The Christmas list half done, phone in hand and a very specific search: the LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar the kids have been asking for since October. The product page comes up, but under the price there are two words: "Sold out — Retired edition". The Minecraft one, the same. That scene is not a marketing textbook example: it is literally what the 2025 calendar pages on our website show today, where only 3 units of the Star Wars model are left. That is why this article goes out at the end of August and not in November: so that this year the choice can be made calmly, not against the clock. In 2026 there are three LEGO advent calendars to choose from (Star Wars, Marvel and Disney Princess), all three at €32.99, and each with a fairly clear recipient. Let's look at them one by one.

All three calendars are in stock at Híper Ocio for €32.99 and ship within 24 hours: see the LEGO 2026 advent calendars.

24 doors, three kinds of surprise: how a LEGO advent calendar works

The format is the same in all three models: a box with 24 numbered doors and, behind each one, a surprise to build. The contents are split between minifigures of each licence's characters, small builds (ships, vehicles, miniature scenes) and accessories to complete them. It is also common for one of the minifigures to wear a Christmas detail (a hat, a jumper, a scarf) and to be exclusive to that year's calendar, which is why many adult fans buy them for themselves too.

Everything behind those doors is standard LEGO: pieces that work with any other set you already have at home. And since in 2026 all three calendars cost exactly the same, €32.99, price won't decide for anyone. The only question that matters is who will open the doors each morning. So, model by model.

LEGO Star Wars 75456: the one with the widest appeal

LEGO Star Wars 2026 advent calendar box (75456)

The LEGO Star Wars 2026 advent calendar (75456) is the most versatile of the three. It works for a primary-school child who discovered the saga through the series just as well as for a teenager, or for an adult who grew up with the films and opens it for themselves without asking anyone's permission. If there are Star Wars fans at home, whatever their age, it is hard to go wrong with this one.

At the time of writing we have 18 units in the warehouse, at €32.99. A note for anyone looking beyond Advent: the Christmas minifigures in these calendars are not sold in any other set, so they also earn a spot on a collector's shelf. And if the fan wants more, our LEGO Star Wars ships, helmets and dioramas section has plenty to carry on with after the holidays.

LEGO Marvel 76340: for homes where December is all about superheroes

LEGO Marvel 2026 advent calendar box (76340)

The LEGO Marvel 2026 advent calendar (76340) costs the same, €32.99, and we also have 18 units. Its strong point is variety: the Marvel universe has so many characters that every door can bring a new face, which keeps the suspense going until the 24th better than almost any other licence.

It suits primary-school children whose playtime is half taken up by superheroes, although, as with the whole LEGO range, the exact recommended age is printed on the box. It is also a good way to try the line: the miniature builds give a fairly accurate idea of what the large sets in the LEGO Marvel collection are like, in case someone wants to carry on after the holidays.

LEGO Disney Princess 43298: the easiest one for the little ones

LEGO Disney Princess 2026 advent calendar box (43298)

The LEGO Disney Princess 2026 advent calendar (43298) completes the trio, also at €32.99. We have more of this one: 36 units, twice as many as the other two.

It is the most accessible of the three. The builds are simpler, any child who has seen the Disney films recognises the characters instantly, and the 24 surprises together make a small play scene that keeps being played with after Christmas. If the calendar is for a child in nursery or the first years of primary school, or if it will be their first "building" calendar, this is the one we recommend. And to carry on afterwards, the full LEGO Disney collection is on our website.

Which one to choose, depending on who will open it

If you have read this far and are still unsure, this settles it:

  • Adult, teenager or Star Wars fan of any age: the 75456. It is the most versatile and its Christmas minifigures are the ones people keep.
  • Primary-school child who loves superheroes: the Marvel 76340, for the variety of characters door after door.
  • Nursery, early primary or a first LEGO calendar: the Disney Princess 43298, for the simple builds and the play scene left at the end.
  • Two siblings and one calendar: almost always a bad idea. Two different calendars (or a split of days agreed before 1 December) avoid the argument at every breakfast. Two units also go over €49.99, so shipping is free.

And if the licence doesn't matter because what they love is building, any of the three will do: the format, the quality of the pieces and the price are identical.

The maths: 24 surprises at €1.37 a day

There is a simple way to put the price in context: divide it by the days it lasts. €32.99 across 24 doors is roughly €1.37 a day. It is not a toy that is opened and finished in one afternoon, but a month of small instalments: every December breakfast, from the 1st to the 24th, with its door, its little bag and a couple of minutes of building before school.

And nothing is thrown away at the end. The minifigures stay, the small builds mix with the sets already at home and the rest goes into the general box of bricks, where LEGO lives its second life. Few seasonal gifts spread their cost so well over so many days.

The lesson from 2025: what "Retired edition" means

Back to the opening scene, because the figures come from our own website. From the 2025 range, the Minecraft calendar (21280) is sold out and marked "Retired edition". The Harry Potter one (76456), the same. The Star Wars one (75418) has 3 units left at €33.99 and, once they are sold, there will be no more.

"Retired edition" means exactly that: each calendar is made for a single Christmas and, when the manufacturer ends that year's production, what is left in the shops is all there will ever be. There is no second run and no restock in January. That is why, historically, advent calendars sell out between October and November, just when most people are looking for them.

We are not going to put a countdown on this page or tell you how many days of stock are left, because we don't know. What we do know is what our 2025 product pages say, and that is enough for a simple recommendation: the relaxed purchase is the one made in September and October (you choose calmly, put it in the cupboard and on 1 December it is where it should be). Buying in November works out some years and other years ends in front of a "Retired edition". One consolation for anyone who missed last year's Harry Potter calendar: the LEGO Harry Potter collection is still complete on our website.

Why buy it from Híper Ocio

We are a family shop in Albox (Almería), founded in 1923 and now run by the fourth generation, an official LEGO retailer within the Toy Planet group. We are not a marketplace or a middleman: the stock you see on each product page is what is physically in our warehouse, counted by us. When it says 18 units here, there are 18 boxes on a shelf in Albox.

Orders leave from that same warehouse, with delivery in 24-72 working hours and free shipping from €49.99. All products carry the 3-year legal guarantee, and financing is available if you prefer to spread the payment. Behind the email and the phone there are real people who have been selling toys all their lives: if a calendar arrives damaged or something is missing, it gets sorted by talking to us. We can't compete with the giants on size; on knowing what we sell and taking responsibility when something goes wrong, we can.

Frequently asked questions about the LEGO 2026 advent calendars

When is the best time to buy the LEGO 2026 advent calendar?

As early as possible, and without rushing: historically LEGO advent calendars sell out between October and November and, as single-run editions, they are not restocked. The 2025 models on our website are now sold out or down to the last units. Buying in September or October and keeping it until December avoids surprises.

What is behind each of the 24 doors?

A different surprise to build each day: minifigures from the licence (often with Christmas details, and some exclusive to the calendar), small builds such as ships, vehicles or scenes, and accessories. It is all standard LEGO, compatible with the rest of the bricks at home.

Which one is best for a young child?

The Disney Princess one (43298): its builds are the simplest and the characters are instantly recognisable. Star Wars (75456) and Marvel (76340) are a better fit from primary-school age. In any case, the recommended age for each model is printed on the box.

Can you start the calendar after 1 December?

Yes, no problem. The doors are numbered 1 to 24, but you can start on the day it arrives, open two doors one morning to catch up, or even use it as a countdown to Three Kings' Day. Each family decides its own ritual.

How much do the LEGO 2026 advent calendars cost?

All three 2026 models cost €32.99, which works out at roughly €1.37 per surprise over 24 days. At Híper Ocio shipping is free from €49.99 (two calendars already go over that) and all products carry the 3-year legal guarantee.

Can you still get the 2025 calendars?

Practically not. The Minecraft (21280) and Harry Potter (76456) ones are sold out and marked "Retired edition", meaning LEGO no longer makes them. The 2025 Star Wars one (75418) has its last 3 units at €33.99; once they are sold, there will be no restock.

Made up your mind? Choose your LEGO 2026 advent calendar: Star Wars, Marvel or Disney Princess, at €32.99.
