Christmas Gift Guide 2026 at Híper Ocio: What to Buy and for Whom

December always catches somebody out. Some years it is the Three Kings list that stretches until the last minute; other years it is the company dinner that appears on the calendar before anyone has thought about a gift for colleagues. This guide is written for both situations: for anyone who already knows they want a particular LEGO set, and for anyone who still can't decide between a board game, a bike or something for the kitchen.
What we won't do here is repeat the toy guide we published for the Three Kings in May, or the LEGO-by-age list already on the blog. This is the December guide: gifts to put under the tree, for the office secret Santa, or for that person you no longer know what to give after twenty years. Everything is a real product that we have in the shop right now, with price and availability as of today.
For the youngest at home (up to 6 years)
At these ages, what works is simple: something they can use on their own, that won't break the first time it falls, and that features a character they recognise. Bikes with stabilisers are still a safe bet for Christmas, especially if the child has asked for "a bike like my cousin's" at some point during the year.
The Toimsa 14\" Paw Patrol Bike (€134.99) is one of the most popular in this age range: steel frame, V-brake brakes and safety stabilisers, with the official Paw Patrol licence. If your little one already has a bike and just needs an updated helmet, we have Toimsa helmets from €17.99 with the same licences (Batman, Paw Patrol, Spiderman).
For anyone who prefers building to pedalling, LEGO DUPLO is still the safe choice from 1.5 to 5 years (the full guide is on the blog), and for those who have already made the jump to smaller pieces, a LEGO Classic set with loose bricks will fill plenty of rainy afternoons.
From 7 to 12 years: sets with a story and sticker cards that keep coming
In this age range the criteria change: "something pretty" is no longer enough, it has to be based on something they really like. 2026 has been a strong year for LEGO licences, with the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter bringing new sets that range from small pieces at €13 to the complete castle.
The LEGO Harry Potter Sorting Hat Ceremony (76460) at €12.99 is exactly the kind of gift that works as an extra: it doesn't take up much room under the tree, but it recreates a scene that any fan of the saga recognises at once. And if the budget stretches further, LEGO City sets are still among the most requested at this age because they are played with, not just built once and put on the shelf.
The LEGO City Emergency Air Ambulance (60465), 403 pieces for €47.99, is one of the new arrivals that have just come into the shop: a twin-engine plane with a rescue ladder and a fuselage that opens. If your child already has half a LEGO City built in their room, this fits in without repeating a theme.
Sticker cards are still the perfect "filler" gift for this age, and not only football: besides the 2026 World Cup (which we cover separately on the blog), we have packs and blisters of Hot Wheels, Bluey or Stumble Guys from under €1 a pack, ideal for putting several in a stocking without upsetting the budget.
Teenagers, adults and "kidults": the gift that doesn't look like a children's gift
This is where people go wrong most at Christmas: they give something too childish or, on the contrary, something so generic that it says nothing. LEGO has had a line designed for exactly this for a couple of years now (we explained it in depth in the LEGO for adults guide on the blog), but outside LEGO, strategy board games are still among the best things you can give to someone over 16 who isn't sure what they like.
Catan (Devir), at €42.99, is still the safest way into the world of modern board games: rules that can be explained in ten minutes and games that leave plenty to argue about for the whole after-dinner chat. We have already written a complete guide on which Catan expansion to buy next, so if the person you are giving it to already has the base box, it is better to look there before buying a duplicate.
If the budget is tighter, Carcassonne (Devir) at €28.99 does the same job with shorter games, and it is one of the few board games enjoyed as much by people who have been playing for years as by those who haven't touched a counter since ludo.
Company gift and secret Santa ideas (€10-35)
The office secret Santa has an unwritten rule: nothing too personal, nothing too cheap, and ideally something that actually gets used. This is where small appliances beat the typical cinnamon-scented candle by a mile.
The Orbegozo SW 5000 Sandwich Maker (€24.95, 800 W, non-stick plates with triangular sealing) is one of those gifts that first provokes an "are you serious?" and two weeks later the person is sending you a photo of the sandwich they have made. If the budget is tighter, the Orbegozo SW 4915 drops to €14.99 without losing power.
Another option that works well on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve tables is the Orbegozo CU 4100 Electric Corkscrew (€32.95), rechargeable and with a foil cutter included: it solves a real problem at any end-of-year dinner without being an odd gift.
And if you would rather stay at the low end of the price range, the Panini Hot Wheels Megapack (binder + packs, €10) is one of the most convenient options for anyone with children at home who doesn't want to get it wrong for €10.
How to shop without the stress at this time of year
On toys and small appliances, delivery anywhere in Spain is free from €49.99, so if you are going to buy several small gifts, it is worth grouping them in a single order rather than making several separate shipments. For large appliances and televisions we continue to work only in the Valle del Almanzora, the Levante Almeriense and Los Vélez, with delivery in our own van: if the gift is a bike, a large LEGO set or a small appliance, there is no problem with the area; if it is a fridge or a television as a company gift, it is better to write to us first to confirm coverage.
For larger purchases (a bike, several LEGO Icons sets, a batch of company gifts) you can pay in instalments with Klarna from the financing page. And if something doesn't work out once opened, the returns period is 30 days, as set out in our returns policy.
If you would rather see it in person before deciding, the shop is at Avenida 28 de Febrero s/n, Albox, and you can message us on WhatsApp at 623 04 44 20 if you have any doubts about stock before you come.
Why Híper Ocio
We are not the cheapest shop on the internet, and we won't pretend to be. What we can say, with almost a century behind us (the shop opened in 1923, and today it is run by the fourth generation of the family), is that if a LEGO set arrives with a faulty piece or a bike arrives with a loose bolt, there is someone in Albox who answers the phone, not an automated chat from a warehouse that doesn't even know which country it is in. For Christmas gifts that matters: if something goes wrong on the 26th, it is sorted out here, not through a return that takes three weeks.
Frequently asked questions about Christmas gifts 2026
What is the last day I can order for delivery before Christmas Eve?
It depends on the carrier and the delivery area, but as a general rule we recommend not waiting until the last week of December, especially if the order includes several items. If you have a specific deadline, message us on WhatsApp at 623 04 44 20 before buying and we will confirm the real delivery time.
Is delivery free on toys and small appliances at Christmas?
Yes, delivery anywhere in Spain is free from €49.99 on toys and small appliances, with no changes for the season.
Can I buy a large appliance or a television as a gift if I don't live in the Almanzora?
Large appliances and televisions are delivered only with our own van in the Valle del Almanzora, the Levante Almeriense and Los Vélez. Outside that area, we do not currently ship these products nationwide.
What if the recipient doesn't like the gift or it doesn't fit?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it, in line with our returns policy. We recommend keeping the original packaging until the festive period is over, just in case.
Can I pay in instalments for a more expensive gift, such as a bike or several LEGO sets?
Yes: at checkout you can choose Klarna, which shows you the instalment options available for your purchase before you confirm. It is explained on the financing page.
Do you have physical stock in the shop, or is it online only?
We have a physical shop at Avenida 28 de Febrero s/n, Albox, and the website reflects the same real stock. If you want to confirm the availability of a particular product before you come, you can message us on WhatsApp.
