Who is it ideal for?
The DH 5000 is the right dehumidifier if:
- You live in a coastal or very humid area (Levante, Galicia, Cantabrian coast) and need a lot of capacity.
- You have a large home or several connecting rooms — 160 m² covers an entire apartment.
- You want to dehumidify basements, garages, or storage rooms with chronic humidity and mold problems.
- You need to dry clothes indoors during cold or rainy weeks.
- You have a small commercial premise, business, or workshop with high relative humidity.
Consumption and usage guide
With 650 W of consumption, one hour of full power use is approximately equivalent to 0.65 kWh. At an average price of €0.15/kWh, this is about €0.10 per hour. In practice, the appliance does not always operate at maximum: the compressor turns on and off according to the detected humidity, so the actual consumption is considerably lower. For continuous drying in a home with 70% humidity, expect intermittent operation of about 6-10 hours per day until the environment stabilizes at 50-55%. Once in operation, the cycles are short. With the permanent drain connection, you can leave it working unsupervised, as it does not require emptying the tank.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many square meters does it actually cover?
The technical sheet indicates up to 160 m² under favorable conditions (open spaces, moderate humidity). For basements or very humid rooms, this figure should be reduced by 20-30%, but it is still a very high capacity for domestic use.
Do I have to empty the tank constantly?
No, if you connect the included drain hose to a drain or sewer. In that case, the appliance operates continuously. If you only use the tank (6.5 L), in very humid conditions you will have to empty it several times a day.
Is it noisy?
It has a maximum of 51.5 dB at high speed — comparable to the murmur of a quiet conversation. At minimum speed, it is notably quieter. It is not the quietest dehumidifier in the catalog (being so powerful) but it is perfectly acceptable in hallways, living rooms, and storage rooms. For bedrooms, you might consider the DH 1245 (36 dB).
Is it suitable for drying clothes?
Yes, it has a specific laundry drying mode. Placed near the clothesline, it significantly shortens drying time and prevents musty odors.
How much does it consume per month?
It depends on the use. If it runs 8 hours a day in intermittent cycles (average actual consumption ~250 W), it would be about 60 kWh/month, equivalent to about €9 with an average tariff. In winter and very humid areas, it may increase; in summer, it usually decreases.
What refrigerant does it use and why does it matter?
It uses R290 (propane), a natural gas with very low global warming potential. It is the modern and ecological alternative to old HFC refrigerants. It is also more energy efficient.
Is it easy to move?
It weighs about 20 kg, but it includes a top handle and wheels on the base, allowing it to be comfortably moved between rooms without having to lift it.
