How to choose the ideal humidity

The recommended humidity range for a comfortable and healthy home is between 40 % and 60 %. Below 30 %, the air dries out mucous membranes and can irritate the throat. Above 65 %, problems appear: condensation on windows, mould in corners, dust mites, a muggy feeling and difficulty drying laundry. Set the DH 1245 to 50 % as a starting point; if you live on the coast or have mould problems, lower it to 45 %. The dehumidifier will work in short cycles to maintain that level and will switch off automatically when it reaches it, which minimises consumption. With an actual 235 W and short cycles, the average electricity cost in real use is around 3-5 € per month under normal conditions.

Can it be used in the bedroom while sleeping?

Yes. With a maximum of 36 dB, it is one of the quietest models on the market. Most users leave it on all night without any problem.

How much does it consume per month?

235 W nominal consumption, but in real use with intermittent cycles the average is much lower. With 6-8 hours of daily use, it usually costs between 3 and 5 € per month at average electricity prices.

Is it enough for a whole house?

Not for a large home. It is designed for a large room or medium-sized rooms of up to 50 m². If you need to cover a whole flat, look at the DH 5000 (50 L/day, 160 m²).

Does the tank need emptying?

The tank holds 2,5 litres: in high-humidity conditions it can fill up in a few hours. To avoid emptying it, simply connect the drain hose to a drain — the appliance will then run continuously.

What is the laundry drying mode for?

It increases the fan speed and keeps the compressor running to remove moisture from the air more aggressively. Place the dehumidifier next to the clothes airer and your laundry will dry indoors in much less time, without a damp smell.

Does it work in winter at low temperatures?

Yes, thanks to the anti-frost system, which prevents ice from forming on the evaporator when the room temperature is low. Even so, compressor dehumidifiers perform less well below 16-18 °C; ideally, use it with minimal heating on.

Does it need maintenance?

Very little. The dust filter can be removed and washed with lukewarm water every 2-4 weeks depending on use. It has no consumable parts that require regular replacement.
