Legends of Andor - The Eternal Cold Devir

Leyendas de Andor — El frío eterno is a cooperative board game from Devir for 2 to 4 players, set in the kingdom of Andor during a winter that never ends. All players are on the same side: you win or lose as a group, against the game itself. It includes four new adventures in which you must explore, fight and find out where this cold is coming from.

The most useful thing we can tell you about it is this: it is a standalone game. Although it carries the Leyendas de Andor name, it does not need the base game or any other title in the line to play. You open the box and play. This is the question we are asked most often at the counter, and the answer is that you do not need to buy anything else.

Main features

• Fully cooperative. There is no single player against the rest: the whole group plays against the scenario.
• Standalone, self-contained game. It does not require the Leyendas de Andor base game or any previous expansion.
• Four adventures set in a frozen Andor, with exploration, combat and mystery.
• 2 to 4 players. It works just as well with two as with four, because nobody competes against anybody.
• Published by Devir, in Spanish.

What's in the box

A piece-by-piece list of components does not appear in the manufacturer's product sheet we work from, and we would rather leave it blank than fill it in by guesswork. What we do know for certain is that the box contains everything you need to play the four adventures without buying anything else, because the title is standalone. If you would like details of the contents before buying, ask us on WhatsApp at 623 04 44 20 and we will check with the box in front of us.

Who it suits (and who it doesn't)

A cooperative game fits very well in groups and families where someone takes losing badly, because nobody loses to anybody: you lose to the game, and that is much easier to take. It also suits you if there are two of you at home and you are tired of board games that need four people to work.

It suits less well in two situations. The first is if your group wants to compete against each other: there is no rivalry here, just playing together. The second, which has to be said, is the alpha player: in cooperative games there is a tendency for one person to take charge and decide everyone else's turns. If there is someone like that in your group, agree before you start that each person decides their own move.

An honest note about the adventures: the manufacturer mentions four, but it is not stated whether they are played in a fixed order as a campaign or individually. If this matters to your decision, please ask us before buying rather than assuming either way.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official product?

Yes. Híper Ocio is an authorised official distributor of Devir, and the game arrives sealed in its Spanish edition.

Do I need the original Leyendas de Andor to play?

No. El frío eterno is a standalone title: it plays on its own, without the base game and without any expansion. If you already have other Andor games, all the better; if you have none, it also works as a first introduction to the line.

Do you deliver throughout Spain?

Yes, free delivery within Spain on orders from 49,99 €. And here is a note we would rather give you ourselves: this game is priced just below that amount, so if bought on its own, delivery is not free. If you add anything else to your basket, it is.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, you can pay in instalments with Klarna: simply choose it at checkout.

Can I return it if I'm not happy with it?

Yes, you have 30 calendar days under our returns policy. The product must be unused and in its original packaging, which for a board game means unbroken seal and components not punched out. Return postage is paid by the customer unless the item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect.

Can it be played solo?

The product information states 2 to 4 players, so we do not claim it has a solo mode. If you are going to play alone, please ask us on WhatsApp first and we will check the rulebook.
