LEGO Star Wars 2026: A Complete Guide to New Sets, Prices and Recommended Ages

If you come into Híper Ocio looking for a LEGO Star Wars set, the first thing we always tell you is the same: don't buy for the box, buy for the person who is going to build it. A set can look wonderful on a shelf and still be frustrating for a child who doesn't yet have the patience or the fine motor skills to put together such small pieces. And the other way round: an adult collector is not going to get excited about a 100-piece set designed for 4-year-olds.

2026 is proving to be a particularly busy year for the LEGO Star Wars range. Fourteen new sets have been confirmed, LEGO Smart Play technology has finally arrived (the first time LEGO has built sounds and effects into its models), and the big UCS release of the year is the Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter. If you were hoping for a new Millennium Falcon, that will have to wait.
In this guide we explain what has been released, what is coming, what each price level costs and, most importantly, which set suits whom. We have been an official authorised LEGO retailer for years, and the question we are asked most often at the counter is not "which is the best?" but "is this one right for my 8-year-old nephew, or will it be too advanced for him?". Let's get to it.
The most sought-after LEGO Star Wars sets of 2026
The January wave opened the year with eight sets at modest prices, aimed at birthday presents and restocking the range. The second wave (27 April) has raised the bar with more detailed models for more experienced builders. These are the sets we are being asked for most in 2026:
- 75440 AT-AT: 525 pieces, €64.99. A mid-scale version of the Imperial walker. It is proving to be the workhorse of the year thanks to its size-to-price ratio.
- 75441 Venator-Class Attack Cruiser: 643 pieces, €79.99. For fans of the Clone Wars, a classic returning to the range.
- 75442 The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter (UCS): 1,809 pieces, €249.99. The only UCS confirmed for the year so far. It arrived on 4 May and is the star piece for adult collectors.
- 75443 Grogu's Home: 107 pieces, €19.99. The go-to present for nephews, nieces and school friends.
- 75444 AT-RT Attack: 297 pieces, €44.99.
- 75445 Anzellan Starship: 701 pieces, €74.99.
- 75446 Grogu, Mandalorian Apprentice: 1,200 pieces, €129.99. A large buildable Grogu figure; very eye-catching as a present.
- 75447 The Razor Crest: 930 pieces, €149.99. Din Djarin's ship at mid-scale, one of the most eagerly awaited sets of the year.
- 75460 New Republic X-Wing: 558 pieces, €69.99. An updated X-Wing for those nostalgic for the original trilogy.
The rest of the range (the Mandalorian and Grogu Speeder Bike, Cobb Vanth's Speeder, Grogu's Farm, a buildable BB-8, the Shock Clone Trooper Mech and the Siege of Mandalore Pack) covers the €15 to €50 bracket, which is the best-selling one for children's birthdays.
LEGO Star Wars by age: which set to choose for each builder
This is what you really want to know. The recommended age LEGO prints on the box is fairly reliable, but there are nuances. A child who has already built many sets can move up one bracket; one who is just starting out is better off staying at their age.
Ages 4-6: the gateway to the galaxy
At this age, what works are small sets (fewer than 150 pieces) with large, recognisable figures. 75443 Grogu's Home (€19.99) and the battle packs from the January wave are ideal. Forget about large ships: they will either break them or lose patience. If your little one insists on "something big", have a look at the LEGO 4+ range, although there is little on offer in Star Wars at this level.
Ages 7-9: the sweet spot
This is where most of the range sits. Sets of between 200 and 500 pieces, with clear instructions and simple mechanisms (opening wings, cannons that fire darts). The 75440 AT-AT at €64.99 is perfect for this age group: big enough to impress, manageable in complexity and with plenty of play value. The 75444 AT-RT Attack is also a good fit.
Ages 10-13: building like grown-ups
If the recipient has experience with LEGO, they can take on sets of 600-900 pieces. The 75441 Venator, the 75460 X-Wing and the 75445 Anzellan Starship fall into this range. The level of detail becomes noticeable and the build takes several afternoons, which is part of the value of the present.
Ages 14-17: returning builders
For teenagers who already have a collection and watch The Mandalorian, the two key sets are 75446 Grogu, Mandalorian Apprentice (1,200 pieces, €129.99) and 75447 The Razor Crest (930 pieces, €149.99). Both combine display and play, with collectable figures that do not appear in other sets.
Adults (kidults): UCS, Icons and display models
The adult segment of LEGO Star Wars keeps growing. If you are treating yourself or buying for someone who already has several sets, there are three serious options:
- The UCS Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter (75442), at €249.99, is the new release of the year. Display stand with an information plaque, a larger scale and far more detail than the standard version.
- The UCS Death Star released in October 2025 (9,023 pieces, 38 minifigures) remains the most ambitious set in the range if you have the space and the budget.
- The UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) is still the "Holy Grail" for many collectors; we keep it available whenever there is stock.
As a present for an adult who is just getting started, Icons sets such as the UCS X-Wing, the large AT-AT or the dioramas (the Hoth scene, the Dagobah scene) are usually a good way in without reaching four figures.
LEGO Smart Play: the technology news of the year
2026 marks the debut of LEGO Smart Play, a technology that adds built-in sounds, lights and effects to the sets without visible external batteries or apps. The first sets with Smart Play are Star Wars themed and arrived in March. If you are torn between a standard set and one with Smart Play, bear two things in mind:
First, the price difference is significant: the same model with Smart Play can cost between 30% and 50% more than the classic version. Second, the electronic component has a different guarantee and lifespan from standard LEGO plastic (which is practically everlasting). If you are looking for a present that will last decades and that the child will play with, build and take apart many times, the classic version makes more sense. If you want the "wow" factor on the first day and the novelty of the technology, Smart Play delivers that.
The big UCS release of the year: the Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter
Of all the new releases, the 75442 is the one that generates the most enquiries on WhatsApp. If you are thinking of buying it, a few things are worth clarifying:
With 1,809 pieces and a recommended retail price of €249.99, it is a serious set. It is not a last-minute present. It includes a display stand, a plaque with technical details and exclusive collector's versions of the Din Djarin and Grogu minifigures. According to our customers' experience, the build takes between 8 and 12 hours spread over several days. Once on display, it measures approximately 45 cm long. It is not designed for play: the antennae, fins and fine details suffer when handled.
If you are giving it as a present, make sure the recipient has space to display it. If it is for yourself, think about dust: the N-1 has many horizontal surfaces that collect dust, and cleaning it without taking it apart requires patience and a brush.
What a LEGO Star Wars set really costs: realistic price ranges
Let's be clear about money, because this is what confuses people most when they first visit the section:
- Up to €25: small battle packs and starter sets such as Grogu's Home. Ideal as a present for a classmate or a treat for little ones.
- €25-50: the standard children's birthday present. AT-RT, speeders, small ship sets. This is the range with the highest turnover.
- €50-100: a "big" present for a special birthday or Three Kings' Day (Reyes). AT-AT, X-Wing, Venator. Most parents and grandparents shop in this range.
- €100-200: a present for serious collectors or a joint present from several people. Razor Crest, the large Grogu, mid-sized Icons sets.
- €200-500: UCS and large dioramas. N-1 Starfighter, UCS AT-AT, UCS X-Wing. This is adult collecting territory.
- €500 and above: Death Star, UCS Millennium Falcon and similar. Piece for piece, these are among the best-value LEGO sets there are, but they require budget and space.
If the set you want costs more than €100, please remember that at hiperocio.com you can pay in instalments with Klarna.
Star Wars vs other LEGO ranges: when it is not the best choice
Even though we are an official LEGO retailer and enjoy selling Star Wars, we will be honest with you: it is not always the best range to give as a present. If the recipient:
- Has not seen the films or the series: the figures will mean nothing to them and many sets lose their appeal. City, Friends or Creator are better choices, as the appeal lies in the set itself.
- Is very young (3-5 years): most Star Wars sets are 7+. Have a look at the DUPLO or LEGO 4+ ranges, which have gentler themes.
- Is interested in real cars or mechanics: Technic, Speed Champions or Icons Vehicles will suit them better.
- Prefers building decorative pieces: the Botanical Collection or Architecture are safer bets.
If you are genuinely unsure what would suit, the most useful thing is to tell us and we will advise you. You will find us on Avenida 28 de Febrero s/n in Albox, and on WhatsApp at 623 04 44 20. Seeing the set in person before buying makes a big difference to how you perceive its size and difficulty.
Why buy your LEGO Star Wars set at Híper Ocio
No marketing spin: we are a family shop in Albox founded in 1923, now in its fourth generation with Antonio Martínez Rosado at the helm, and members of the Toy Planet chain. We sell LEGO because this family has loved LEGO for decades, not because it is a profitable product in the abstract.
What we offer compared with buying on large platforms: direct contact with someone who knows the sets, the official LEGO guarantee (with everything that means for replacing lost pieces), free delivery anywhere in Spain on toy orders from €49.99, and the option to return within 30 days under our returns policy (returns are not free on our side, and we want to be clear about that: you will need to send the parcel back yourself).
What we will not sell you: no "home collection", no "free returns" and no impossible rush deliveries. We work honestly: if a set is out of stock at the distributor, we will tell you rather than make up a delivery time.
Frequently asked questions about LEGO Star Wars 2026
How many new LEGO Star Wars sets are there in 2026?
There are 14 new sets confirmed for 2026, released in waves in January, March (the first with Smart Play technology), April and May. The main UCS of the year is the Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter (75442), released on 4 May.
What age does LEGO recommend for its Star Wars sets?
Most of the range is marked 7+ or 9+. Small battle packs are usually 6+, while UCS and Icons sets are 18+. The recommended age on the box is reliable: take it into account and only move up one bracket if the child already has experience with complex LEGO sets.
What is LEGO Smart Play and is it worth paying extra for?
Smart Play is the technology LEGO launched in 2026 to build sounds and effects into its sets without visible batteries or external apps. It is worth it if you want the initial "wow" factor and the novelty of the technology; it is not worth it if you want a set to build and take apart for years, because the electronics shorten its theoretical lifespan compared with a classic LEGO set.
Where can I buy LEGO Star Wars 2026 sets with delivery anywhere in Spain?
At hiperocio.com we deliver toys (including the entire LEGO Star Wars 2026 range) anywhere in Spain, with free delivery on orders from €49.99. For household appliances and televisions, coverage is limited to the Almanzora, Levante Almeriense and Los Vélez areas, but there are no restrictions for toys.
Can I pay for a large LEGO set in instalments?
Yes: at checkout you can choose Klarna, which shows you the instalment options available for your purchase before you confirm. It is the option most used by customers buying UCS sets or bundles of several sets for Three Kings' Day.
What is the most expensive LEGO Star Wars set of 2026 so far?
Of the 2026 new releases, the most expensive is the UCS Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter (75442) at €249.99. The UCS Death Star (released in October 2025, with 9,023 pieces) remains the most ambitious set in the overall range in terms of price and size.
