Codenames is one of those games that gets played again and again without getting old. The tension, the laughter, and that moment when someone gives a hint that seems brilliant but turns out disastrous make it one of the most addictive party games of recent years.

Two teams of spies compete to contact their secret agents before the opposing side. Only the spymasters know the identity of each one and must give a single word as a clue for their team to guess which are the allied agents. The trick: the clue can refer to several words on the board, and if the team makes a mistake, they might end up choosing an opponent's word or, even worse, the assassin, which instantly loses the game.

Each game is different thanks to its 200 key cards and 40 master key cards. The rules are explained in 5 minutes, but mastering the clues and anticipating what your team will interpret takes a few games.
