Codenames is one of those games that gets played over and over without getting old. The tension, the laughs, and that moment when someone gives a clue that seems brilliant but turns out disastrous make it one of the most addictive party games of recent years.

Two teams of spies compete to contact their secret agents before the rival team. Only the spymasters know the identity of each agent and must give a single word as a clue for their team to guess which are the allied agents. The trick: the clue can refer to several words on the board, and if the team makes a mistake, they might end up choosing a rival's word or, even worse, the assassin, which causes them to lose the game instantly.

Each game is different thanks to its 200 codename cards and 40 key cards. The rules can be explained in 5 minutes, but mastering the clues and anticipating what your team will interpret takes a few games.
