Getting it right when choosing a washing machine seems complicated, because after all it is an appliance that we only buy from grapes to pears and that has characteristics that we may not be aware of, such as energy consumption, revolutions or the type of motor, among others.
How to choose and buy the best washing machine possible in 2022?
At Híper Ocio we have the best and cheapest product selection in the entire Almanzora Valley and we take it home for FREE. In addition, the installation and removal of the old one is also included in the price, so you save a lot of money. But, be careful, the cheapest washing machine is not always the best choice and we will explain why.
Basic aspects to keep in mind:
The usual thing throughout God's life has been to have 5-kilo drums at home (which could even be 4.5). Nowadays, unless our budget is very limited, it is a mistake: the 7, 8 and even 9 kilo machines have dropped so much in price that it is not worth opting for a 5 or 6 kilo machine.
In addition, something that almost no one takes into account is that larger washing machines have stronger bearings and that can extend the life of our product (a machine whose bearings break is so expensive to repair that the collar is more expensive That the dog).
Another fact to take into account is that by having more capacity we will end up using fewer washes throughout the year, which results in economic and ecological savings. And if we put less load, it works with less stress, so its useful life will also be better.
With falling electricity prices, not taking this feature into account is shooting yourself in the foot. Luckily almost all the options on the market are already quite efficient, although there is still quite a difference between some models and others.
Until now we were used to the energy classification ending in A+++, but it has been changed. What was once A+ is now F or G.
In this image we can see the table of equivalences of the new energy labelling. It is important to understand it because the old labels still coexist with the new ones and many customers are scared when they see D on a device.
We recommend opting for a class A, B or C , because in the long term it is worth it.
Fortunately we live in one of the sunniest areas of Europe so we have never worried much about the spin speed, but if we plan to use a dryer it is interesting to look for at least 1000 revolutions per minute (other guides that you will find on the internet will tell you 600, but it's bullshit). Most washing machines on the market already achieve this speed, but it is worth knowing that a machine with 1200 or 1400 will save considerable time in the dryer, which translates into less energy expenditure and less suffering for the clothes.

Programs, menus and display
There is no need to go crazy with this section. All washing machines on the market are very complete and come with many programs that will allow us to choose the one that suits us best depending on our type of clothing and its dirt.
However, the issue of the menus and the display does seem very important to us. A machine that only has a selector in which you choose the program and the type of clothing and you cannot change the duration, speed or temperature is not the same as another in which we can alter everything to our liking. Especially since being able to choose programs with low or directly cold water temperature will also save a lot of energy (a washing machine is the third appliance that consumes the most at home after the refrigerator and the television!).
In addition, we find it practical that it has a display that shows us the time of each program and what is left to finish. Of course, the cheapest washing machines do not include these functions.
Normal washing machines - those of a lifetime - are front-loading and all measure 60 cm. Wide. The top-loading ones measure 45 cm. Wide.
Whenever possible, it is advisable to opt for the former, as they are cheaper and have better benefits and efficiency. The image we show below is very striking, but unless your house is to win design contests, it seems impractical.
Another interesting consideration is that the front-loading ones allow you to put the dryer on top of them, thereby gaining part of the space that is lost due to a greater width.
This is something that few people consider. It is logical, it is something quite technical. Simplifying a lot, we will say that there are two kinds of motors, conventional and inverter. The latter are much more efficient and have such great reliability that most manufacturers add an extra guarantee because they know they are dog meat. LG, Samsung or Infiniton give you up to 10 years.
LG brand washing machines also have a very striking peculiarity: their inverter motors include DIRECT DRIVE technology, which does not use a belt to move the drum and therefore vibrates less and emits fewer decibels.
As for the noise, you don't have to go crazy either. Unless we have it in the same room where we do daily life (for example, a kitchen-living room) we won't really notice the difference. This characteristic is measured in decibels and the quietest on the market are usually those of the Bosch brand, although the rest of the brands have improved a lot in this section.
Initially, no. Because? Well, because they cost practically the same as a separate washer and dryer and have several drawbacks. The main one is that a dryer, not being in direct contact with water, lasts many more years than a washing machine. In addition, the dryer is not always on and this adds to its useful life.
As if that were not enough, washer-dryers have less drying capacity than washing, so you have to take out clothes to dry and that is a nuisance for a couple of noses.
No one should think that their brand new appliance is going to break, but it can happen. We go out of our way to solve any problem that occurs and we do not sell any brand or model that has played tricks on us, although we believe that it is important not to go to strange brands to save 4 bucks.
In our opinion, the brands that currently have the best technical service in our area are Whirlpool, Indesit, Infiniton, Milectric and Svan. Others with a good SAT are Bosch, Balay, Daewoo and Teka.
The 5 best washing machines -quality/price- that you will find in the entire Almanzora region are these. We have cheaper ones, but this is the pata negra ham:
LG has a feature that makes it stand out from the rest: its washing machines have the DIRECT DRIVE system, which directly transmits the movement of the motor to the drum and this greatly reduces vibrations and noise, extending the life of the appliance. The model that we recommend has 8 kilos, 1400 revolutions and, of course, very low consumption.
Milectric, the second brand of Infiniton from Granada, is one of our best sellers. A very complete machine at a spectacular price.
The brand recently presented this amazing model: with a 10-kilo drum, new energy class B and detergent dispenser . What does this mean? That you add soap for a month and she adjusts it to what is needed.
Balay, the second Bosch brand, makes washing machines of amazing quality. The most striking thing about the Zaragoza brand is the little noise it emits.
Our number 1 seller for tons of years has never let us down. AMAZING PRICE and unbeatable features. And they have the best technical service in Almería. They win heaven if there is a breakdown, but really this machine NEVER BREAKS.
Bonuses. An integrated washing machine and a very cheap one (which I would not buy, but we have in stock)
If there is no choice but to integrate the device, we recommend this Infiniton bicharraco . Once again quality, benefits and BEST PRICE than any other brand on the market with the same options.
And if, for whatever reason, the budget is tight, this Benavent, which does not reach 200 euros, must be seen. Although for very little we have much more complete options.
